![]() ![]() So MK11 can't be cited on account of updates for say, Cassie or Frost. ![]() Remember, just newcomers who were made playable in a specific entry, not counting redos for veterans. I will include guests in the newcomer count(s) as well. And for the purposes of this poll/thread, I'm counting newcomers as when they were first made playable in a fighting game, so Armageddon gets four choices instead of two to give it a fighting chance. You all are gonna have to choose the bundle of new faces you like the most or hate the least. I know a sweep when I see one and the poll only has room for seven choices. We're looking at all most of the mainline entries post- Mortal Kombat Trilogy, from the last days of Tobias' tenure to the time-bending Mortal Kombat 11. In addition, she has a number of long-reaching normals for attacking opponents from afar. Skarlet has a variety of projectiles that allow her to easily control the screen and prevent opponents from closing the distance. Now let's do something with newcomers whose receptions run a wider gamut. Skarlet is a zoning character who relies on using multiple projectiles and ranged attacks to keep opponents away. All of those batches of newcomers are largely liked! She's not the best for wins, but she just oozes personality in Mortal Kombat 11.Hey, I got inspired by this thread about Street Fighter newcomers introduced post- SFII. ![]() She has some of the coolest animations as she manifests and manipulates blood, and don't even get us started on her Fatalities. The very concept of a character who can control blood with their mind is very Mortal Kombat, and creepy to the nth degree. Pro players don't usually have a ton of competitive faith in Skarlet, and place her lower on tier charts. She may not be a bottom five ranked character, but she's often regarded to be in the bottom 10. Though she's decent at zoning and space control, her lack of up close pressure plummets her down many tier lists. ![]() You can fight from afar for most of the match as Skarlet, but you'll inevitably want to augment that approach with some close quarters combat, and that can be where she falls a bit apart. She has a lot of Flawless Block gaps in her strings, so learned opponents will have a relatively easier time dealing with her close pressure. She aims to get a decent bit of her damage from far away, whether that be from full screen with specials or from mid range with her relatively far normals. Skarlet uses specials like her teleport, parry, Blood Shot projectile, and Blood Tentacle to control space and zone opponents. She also carries a dagger in one hand at all times. Her red face mask, hood, and goggles make her look as though she's ready to brave the deserts of Outworld, and her red cape and black leather costume offer further protection from the elements. Shao Kahn's deadliest creation, Skarelt is a blood mage who is dressed in red and black. She was skipped over in Mortal Kombat X, but has a total of two playable instances on her resume now. She made her playable debut as one of Mortal Kombat 2011's DLC characters, and joined that roster on June 21, 2011. Skarlet was part of Mortal Kombat 11's 25 character starting lineup, and was available to play upon the game's release back on April 23, 2019.
